When I read the book of Medicine written by Avicenna ( Ibn Sina ) about
food and health,
He said ;
" The worldly life is one of the stages of the
journey to God, and the body is the vehicle for this journey.
As such,
it behooves the traveler of path of God to maintain the body in optimum
condition, so that the diversions of discomfort and pain do not distract
one from concentration upon the goal ( union with God )."
One more
interesting is that fruits and vegetables at the beginning
of the growing season ( masa mulai panen ) have a healing quality,
while those at the end of the growing season can produce disease.
This
is confirmed me with apples, for example, which are very tart and
astringent early in the growing season ( Memetik langsung di kebun apel
Batu Malang for example).
But after the freeze, the sugar content soars
and can easily cause excessive mucus buildup.
Flus, colds, and the like
may result.
